Im trying to take care of a bill to move into a new place. I can't bre approved for the home until this issue is taken care of. I was trying to set up a payment arrangement if possible if not find out a way to pay it asap ... Im a northern Ky Duke energy customer ,I need to pay my bill to Get this house there saying I have *accts.* act wasn't taken out of my name from former apt. Didn't know until * months later that the acct stayed in our name while they used it we needed it transferred to our new apt, which it was but they never took the other place out of nane until a new tenant moved in, so there saying we have to take the landlord to court but we can't do that right now we plan to but we're focused on putting a roof over our families head.* we moved * times after that with that act still having balance. I need to pay the acct we were using this whole time to move or my family and i will have no home ,if i don't take care of this quick. Will I have to pay both to get service on at new house. Didn't have to before. They say they won't take a payment arrangement but offer that on website why won't they with me?* I need the acct paid to show the new landlord its taken care of so we can Get service turned on at the new house. Please help
Is that its not our fault they didn't take the electric out of our name from the apt we moved out of. We were unaware that it was still in our name because they transferred services to the new place so we thought it was out of our name. It wasn't until * months later that we found out that we had an outstanding bill from the previous apt. There response was the landlord never let them in to take it out of our name. No one notified us of that they new where to find us because we still were using Duke energy at the place we were living at * We shouldn't be responsible for there error but unfortunately we are according to them. *Note it's affecting us from moving into a home that we Need now. We had * places after the apt we lived in left the acct on in our name plus we had services the entire time. We had to move in with family when the pandemic started and we can't stay anymore and have to move & this is standing in the way of getting approved for a home. They offer there helping ppl with payment agreements but say they can't help us.
Just get the bill paid and figure out a way to handle the bill that wasn't taken out of our name when it should of been.
We have been a customer almost *yrs,I wasnt expecting to be treated and talked to so rudely, couldn't even ask a question before getting interrupted and saying that they couldn't help either pay or don't Get services needed. *Im not saying we don't owe for the services we lastly used which is a *** bill and I said we would pay that but asked if they could work with us and they said no didn't even let us ask anymore questions. *Ive never been treated like that before. I don't like asking for help and I don't this is * times o could really use some help and was treated I think unfairly.
