Get my headrest repaired. It’s brand new. ... On my first leg of the flight there was a tear on my headrest of my personal wheelchair when it came out of cargo. This is a brand new wheelchair. I went to customer service to report the issue to Maryabelle and she told me I could not put in a claim until the end of my flight destination. I arrived at my final destination in Rochester Minnesota and they told me I could not put in a claim and should have done it in Atlanta. I advised them that I had tried but was directed to them at the end destination. I was just passed around. No resolution. I found out wheelchairs are ***% covered by the airlines. I flew Delta the whole way there and back home.
They were informed and was denied to make a claim for repair of tear.
If it could at least be paid to patch properly or replace the headrest.
I remained calm. I did due diligence and reported it right away when it came off the aircraft with the tear. But denied. I was disappointed of the passing of responsibility and accountability for damage made to my new powered wheelchair.
I gave up. I tried to report the claim at both landing right away. I pointed it out to the next leg of flight in hopes to reduce the impact of the tear worsening. It was documented then on the *’bd leg. At final destination I was denied to mama claim being told “I should have done it after it happened in Atlanta”. Even though I told them I tried and was denied. They disregarded me.
