If you have an account at Ally Bank, then you should consider using the bank's recurring payments tool. With it, you can have your bills paid for you, with the money automatically deducted from your Ally Bank Interest Checking account without your needing to do anything. In most cases, the money will be transferred to your payees electronically. If one of your payees does not accept electronic payments, Ally Bank will mail a check for you. To learn how to set up automatic payments, just keep reading.

How to Set Up Automatic Bill Pay From Your Ally Bank Account

To set up automatic bill payments, follow this procedure:

  1. Go to the Ally Bank website.
  2. Sign into your Ally Bank account.
  3. Go to Bill Pay.
  4. Find your list of payees.
  5. Locate the payee you want to pay on this list. If your payee is not on this list, add the payee's information yourself.
  6. Click on the Recurring Payments option next to your payee.
  7. Choose the first payment date.
  8. Select a payment frequency.
  9. Enter the payment amount.
  10. If your payee permits the option, choose whether to pay the minimum amount due or the full amount. This can be useful for bills that change every month, such as credit card bills.
  11. Choose a duration for the payments.

Please note that Ally Bank recommends that you do not use the automatic bill payment feature to pay either federal or state taxes, or to make court-ordered payments.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Ally Bank Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
